Caesarean section: 剖腹產(chǎn)

人們說，上帝在5月27日不小心打了個小盹兒，不然，怎能讓東西方娛樂圈里最引人關(guān)注的兩個“小公主”在同一天誕生？于是乎，一大幫娛記忙得不亦樂乎，這邊既要關(guān)注王菲的第二次生育，那邊又要報道遠(yuǎn)在納米比亞的安吉麗娜·茱莉……
對于如此瑣碎的新聞，不管大家感興趣與否，至少它可以幫我們了解一個詞caesarean
section（剖腹產(chǎn)）。

for weeks, singer and actress Faye Wong finally gave birth to a four-kilogram
daughter in a Beijing hospital on May 27.
The 36-year-old had a Caesarean section and both the baby and mother are
physically fine, according to Faye Wong's agent and close friend Katie Chen.
對于Caesarean，其實(shí)大家并不陌生，Caesar——凱撒大帝嘛！怎么跟生孩子掛在一起了？說白了，其實(shí)也挺簡單，傳說凱撒大帝為剖腹產(chǎn)所生，所以人們常用Caesarean，或Caesarean
birth，或者Caesarean section來形容“剖腹產(chǎn)”。例如：
It was a difficult birth; she had to
have a Caesarean. 因?yàn)殡y產(chǎn), 她必須得做剖腹產(chǎn)手術(shù)。
另外，新聞中的labor常用來形容“分娩”，如a difficult labor（難產(chǎn)）；a natural
labor（自然分娩）?；蛘?，我們也可用詞組in labor來形容“分娩”，如：
His wife is in labor.
她妻子正在分娩。
