Asian song writers often pepper their music with English lyrics, some even go to the length of producing an English language track for English speaking audiences but Katara does not. American singer songwriter most affectionately known by her stage name Katara writes and sings in mandarin Chinese.

While Katara was living in the US, she posted videos of herself singing in Mandarin on the Chinese equivalent of Youtube, Youku.com. After cultivating a following, Katara took the step to move to China. She’s now living in Beijing and working on making her mandarin and mandarin language songs better.
