今年兩會(huì)，作為中國(guó)籃協(xié)主席的姚明并沒(méi)有準(zhǔn)備新的提案，而是著力為去年提出的“小籃球”推廣計(jì)劃再次搖旗吶喊，看得出他對(duì)于小籃球的大重視。

Utilizing his position as a member of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference's National Committee, Yao called for more cross-departmental cooperation and better coaching to further expand a school basketball program launched last year.

作為一名全國(guó)政協(xié)委員，姚明呼吁各部門共同合作，更好地指導(dǎo)，進(jìn)一步發(fā)展去年開(kāi)展的校園籃球項(xiàng)目。

"Sports participation, as part of all-around education, should be given a more prominent role on campus, whereas now academic excellence seems to be the main priority in our country," Yao told China Daily on Sunday in Beijing during the annual session of the country's top political advisory body.

上周日政協(xié)會(huì)議期間，姚明在北京接受《中國(guó)日?qǐng)?bào)》記者采訪時(shí)說(shuō)：“作為綜合性教育的一部分，參與體育活動(dòng)在校園中應(yīng)該扮演更重要的角色，而如今學(xué)習(xí)成績(jī)還是人們最優(yōu)先考慮的事情。”

"Building organized and accessible sports competitions with tailor-made programs and adequate facilities is the key to involving as many students as possible," said Yao, who is chairman of the Chinese Basketball Association.

中國(guó)籃球協(xié)會(huì)主席姚明說(shuō)：“舉辦有組織、大家可以廣泛參與的體育比賽，專門制定體育項(xiàng)目，并提供充足的體育設(shè)施是讓盡可能多的學(xué)生參與進(jìn)來(lái)的關(guān)鍵?！?/p>

"It has to be a collaborative effort between the sports and education departments," said Yao,.

“這需要體育界和教育部門的通力合作。”

"To make it campus-based means we don't count on it to cultivate future pro players. … We believe participation in team sports helps children grow stronger as individuals physically and mentally."

“立足于校園，意味著我們并不是為了選拔未來(lái)的運(yùn)動(dòng)員。我們相信參與團(tuán)體體育活動(dòng)能幫助孩子在身體和心理上都更強(qiáng)大?！?/p>
